Next conference will be the 10th HistoCrypt conference, and to mark this special anniversary, we are delighted to announce that it will take place in Stockholm from 21 to 23 June 2027.

It’s a return to our roots, as the first HistoCrypt conference was held in Sweden in 2018. Do make a note of the date! It will be preceded by a workshop on ancient scripts, to be held at the same venue on 21 June.

As HistoCrypt 2026 comes to a close, we would like to extend our warmest thanks to all speakers, authors, reviewers, participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made this conference such a memorable event.

This year’s edition was held under the theme of the First World War, offering a unique opportunity to explore the rich cryptologic history and enduring legacy of this pivotal period alongside the conference’s broader scientific program.

Over the past few days, we have enjoyed inspiring keynote lectures, fascinating paper presentations, lively discussions, engaging poster sessions, and countless opportunities to exchange ideas across the diverse fields of historical cryptology.

The conference is now over and we cordially hope you had a pleasent stay in Munich while taking home some new inspirations and ideas for the years to come. Speaking of the years come: During the Business Meeting we decided to go with HistoCrypt 2024 to the UK, or more specifically to Oxford and Bletchley Park. Hence, don’t miss out and save the date: HistoCrypt 2024 will take place 25-27 June 2024!

The conference start is imminent. While the final, final preparations are on the way, we are looking forward to see you all on Monday evening (18:00) for the Welcome Reception in the Posthof of Deutsches Museum.

If you can’t make it to the Welcome Reception, the registration opens Tuesday at 8:00 (in the Forum der Zukunft) and the conference starts at 9:00.

We worked out the program, added information about accomodations and opend the registration process. Click on the top of this news to read more.

The review process was finished in time and we would like to thank the programm commitee and all reviewers for their work. The decisions were not always easy, but in the end we accepted a total of 20 papers and 2 posters. Additionally, we could win two Keynote speakers and also find ways to round up the program with a social event and a lot of coffee. The program is, therefore, now online.

We would like to thank you for all paper submissions and updates. The review process has now started and the programm commitee began its work. As we moved the submission deadline by one week, we also needed to move the notification date for one week to ensure enough time for the reviewers. Hence, expect the result of the review process on March 26th.

The paper submission is now closed for new submissions. Updates of submitted papers are still possible until February 12th. In case of any issues with the submission system, just contact us.
